Metaphysics

Posted on May 7th, 2007 by Jenifer : Dryad Jenifer
I was reading about metaphysics today as I am a new Wiccan, and my thirst for knowledge at this point is insatable.  There was one line that made me think...actually made me "zone out" on the idea....Does this world exist outside of our minds?  I mean do we really have proof that this is real? My reality is vastly different from yours, so which one is the unbiased view? Shouldn't there be one? Maybe we are all just energies floating through time and space...intelligent beings that use this earth and space and time as a vacation...and how would we know?  What this tells me is that there is no gaurantee on what is real and what is imaginary.  That means anything is possible.  If I can dream up this world and all those in it, just think of the power that my mind is capable of!  What all ours minds combined would be able to do...think of the possibilities!!!

I read the most thought provoking idea today

Posted on Nov 19th, 2006 by Jenifer : Dryad Jenifer
So I am new to a pagan faith, and was reading some texts and came across something.  It read that we will be able to live in harmony with nature when we are able to actualize the miracle of the fruit and the breast.  These are the only two things we have in nature that can help to sustain life without causing their own death.  Think about, we can feed ourselves on a fruit, or mothers milk, and still hav e something else that will or can live afterwards.  What a power that would be!!!

goodness vs greatness

Posted on May 18th, 2006 by Jenifer : Dryad Jenifer

Goodness vs Greatness...this was an interesting article that made me question my life, and step out of my comfort zone.  Wait a minute, did I just say "comfort zone'?  It's weird the way people now adays have adopted a language that we have no real meanings for!  I mean "comfort zone"...how long have we actually been using that phrase?  Only since the Dr. Phil's of the world started telling us to.  And why should we bother questioning anything that they tell us to? Remember back before they started telling us how to live, and what to think? People used to have some great thoughts, and aspirations, and dreams. People used to change the world.  What happened to all that?  When did we all lose sight of what was important?  Too often people rely on their tv shows, and favorite celebrities and what not to tell them what to feel on multiple topics, and what to wear, what's funny...you name it!  It's funny to think sometimes about what would have happened if tv never caught on....

The Future

Posted on May 15th, 2006 by Jenifer : Dryad Jenifer
I finally got a chance to read Brians Manifesto (http://brian.zaadz.com/blog/2005/12/thinkarete_themanifesto), and I have to say that I have never thought about the future in the way that he writes about it.  He says "Who came up with that? Work like crazy doing something we’re not passionate about so we can accumulate enough money to pay the bills from our stress-caused illnesses while we complain about what we should have done when we were still young.", and it's so true.  From this moment on I am going to dedicate my life to myself, and the betterment of myself and those I love.  I think that this community is an amazing resource for people to start creating the world that we once had, and spreading the word that we don't have to live by "their" rules.  I hope everyone that reads this is accepting nothing less then what they are worth, and absolutely love.

I love this quote

Posted on Mar 24th, 2006 by Jenifer : Dryad Jenifer
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!

An interesting Moment in time

Posted on Mar 24th, 2006 by Jenifer : Dryad Jenifer
Today as I was watching a show on tv (Starting Over), I light a candle, and for about 10 minutes I got lost in the flame, and then when I glanced up...I saw the picture of a beautiful redwood forest (my idea of heaven).  For the first time in my life I was able to slow my mind down enough to actually allow thoughts and pictures to flow as they wanted to.  You see, I am one of those types of people that have something on the mind all the time, so meditation is especially difficult for me.  With all of the evolution that is going on inside of me, it is a giant leap forward to be able to be still.  I wanted to share this important accomplishment with all of you!

and just b/c it's in my head (mysteriously I may add after my meditation was done), here is a few lines from a great song by Tim McGraw, entitled "Things Change":

Well they like to call them hippies
outlaws with guitars
But they brought a little poetry
To the honky tonks and bars
They might've got a little crazy
They might have flew a little too high
Somewhere somebody's playing their song tonight
Things Change
(Don't you know things change)

Now some say it's too country
Some say it's a little rock n roll
But it's just good music
If you can feel it in your soul
It doesn't really matter
It's always been the same
life goes on
Things Change

...I guess it's inevitable, things do change...and I am finally getting to see the changes...I welcome them with open arms, and hope that everyone else in the world will be able to someday feel this euphoric!

May the sun always shine on your face and may the wind always ease your journey!

MWM, and MWP to all

What a day

Posted on Mar 23rd, 2006 by Jenifer : Dryad Jenifer
Today, like any other, I drove my significant other to work.  Along the way I encounter other drivers, and for a moment in my mind, pause, and ponder one question : How did human beings get so impolite, so self centered, and so blind to the world around them?  I mean we live in a society do we not?  And as a society, didn't we used to work together for the good of the whole?  What I mean by this is that while I was driving the path that I do everyday, I see the same vehicles there on the path with me.  And every day the same things happen...people get cut off, and others have to slam on the brakes because some drivers are just too busy with their own stuff that they either don't notice the rest of us, or they just plain don't care.  I think it's really sad.  The more and more that we get used to these actions, the closer we get to having a society full of individuals...think about it!!!
